Got home a few days ago
. Feels good to be back. Added bonus: I get to play with Peaches!!! She's so cute, sweet, adorable, playful....I could go on and on. She hasn't learned how to play ball yet. In fact, it's kinda weird, but she doesn't seem interested in playing with either a tennis ball or a soccer ball. I don't know why. But, she likes to play with sticks. Yesterday she performed her very first "fetch." YAYYY!!! Very cool. She's so smart. Funny, too. She's still teething and likes to chew on stuff. My folks got her and Brownie a big bag of rawhydes. They both like to chew on them, but Peaches is kinda greedy. Brownie will get up and walk away, and Peaches will walk over and steal the rawhyde he was just chewing on. Yesterday she was sitting there chewing on one rawhyde while two other ones were in between her two front paws. So was a ball. She doesn't like playing ball, but by golly it's her's! heehee. She's so cute.
Peaches like to chew...sometimes on us. Yikes!! Big German Shepard canine teeth!!
In other news: the job search has begun. Grrr...Searching for a job sucks.
When I've wanted to make some money before, all I've had to do is look for a waitressing job et voila! Instant job. Now there's this whole "CAREER" thing going on. 22 years old with a Masters degree in International Relations (IR) living in Missouri: think I'll be able to find a job that allows me to make use of my IR skills? I hope so. The problem is that I find myself having to be creative when searching through the employment opportunities. No one advertises:
WANTED! SUPERSTAR WITH A MASTERS DEGREE IN INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS! BONUS IF EXPERIENCED IN DEALING WITH DIVERSE CULTURES AND NATIONALITIES. SPEAK FRENCH? YOU ROCK! COME ON DOWN!!
So I'm kinda looking at the jobs that have a marketing bent, maybe PR. I'm a people-person. I gotta find a job that lets me be extroverted and stuff. I don't wanna do sales. I wanna be an analyst. That's what I'm trained in. I'm thinking about starting learning Spanish. That's more useful here in the states than my french is. Anyway, I've been asking people here and there what I should do. My mentor from undergrad suggested I look into the MO Trade Bureau. The prof I TA-ed for up in Toronto told me to look into the Chamber of Commerce. I'm kinda overwhelmed. I know I'm ready to enter the 'real world,' it's just that it's kinda scary right now.
Lastly, David is well. It's intensive study week at UMSL, so his classes are all done. He has a final on Thursday and has a few papers to write before next week. Then he's done with this semester. Yay!!
That's all for now. Ciao!!!!
