Feeling bold and daring, I emailed my resume straight to two VPs of companies here in St. Louis. Here's what I wrote in the emails:
Dear Mr. (insert name here),
I'm interested in working for (insert company here). I recently finished my Masters degree and am looking for employment in the govenment affairs department of a company based in St. Louis
My qualifications speak for themselves. I have successful lobbyist experience, great oral and written communication skills, and am a dedicated and diligent worker. My resume is attached for your review.
I understand you are a busy man, and I appreciate you taking the time to read this email. If you have any positions available, I would love to set up an interview with you. Please contact me via email or phone.
Sincerely,
